  • What do I need to do this course?

    You will need an Adobe Creative Cloud or After Effects subscription and good basic knowledge of Adobe products such as Photoshop and/or Illustrator and be used to working with layered files.

  • Can I try before I buy?

    Yes! You will have access to the first three lessons before you commit to purchasing the course. That should give you a good feel for my teaching style and what the lessons look like.

  • What if I then decide I then want to do the full course?

    If at the end of the basics course you decide you want to go on and do the whole thing, I will send you an extra special discount coupon so you you will never pay more than the full amount... and I might just add a little extra discount or bonus in there ;-)

So what am I getting here?

Back in March 2021 I launched the Beta course of After Effects for Visual Practitioners; a kick start for those wanting to move into the world of explainer animations, and also for those who are wanting to up their game from platforms such as Videoscribe or Doodly.  This first iteration was fully online vía Zoom.  

Three months and a happy Beta group later did it again... this time as a blended learning experience with pre - recorded lessons accompanied by scheduled  "office hours" on Zoom to make sure that everyone was following the course without problems and so that I could help learners with any roadblocks they may have had.  

I fully intended to run the course again, but life had other plans and those pre-recorded lessons were just sitting on my course platform, so I made the course available as a fully self guided experience with over 20 bite sized lessons which will hopefully make learning  After Effects as pain free as possible for you… (ie. you’ll learn from all my mistakes!!).  

The next iteration has been to take the first module of that course to give you the absolute basics and the first three lessons are free to give you an idea of my teaching style.

Ideally you will have a good basic knowledge of Photoshop and/or Illustrator to get the most out of this course., and you will need access to Adobe Creative Cloud or After Effects - Adobe do give free trial periods and in many places now offer a monthly (as opposed to annual) subscription. If you have any doubts about whether the course is right for you then please get in touch.
